Blurb from goodreads:

Snappsy the alligator wants nothing more than a quiet evening alone, but a pesky chicken who insists he’s Snappsy’s best friend won’t leave him alone. Friendship bracelets? Matching shirts? The sleepover of the century? Snappsy did not ask for any of the activities this chicken – his best friend forever? – is planning.

My Thoughts:

Snappsy the alligator and Bert the chicken are friends, best friends. Or are they? Bert, a friendly and energetic chicken, follows Snappsy, a grumpy alligator who just wants to be left alone, everywhere, makes plans for both of them without regard for what Snappsy wants, and pretty much inserts himself into every aspect of Snappsy's life. Bert drives Snappsy up the wall, getting his last nerve. He kicks Bert out and comes to realize that maybe having a best friend isn't so bad after all. Bert was a little too aggressive for my taste but most children will probably find him  and his antics funny.

Using humor and exageration, along with delightful and humorous illustrations, Falatko and Miller tell a sweet and funny story about becoming friends, about looking past the surface (or not judging a book by its cover), taking chances, and stepping out of your comfort zone.
